John Felix Anthony Cena is an American professional wrestler, actor and television personality, best known as John Cena. Born on April 23, 1977, in West Newbury, Massachusetts, he rose to international prominence through WWE, where he became one of the company’s most recognizable performers and a record-setting world champion. Outside wrestling, Cena has built an acting career through comedy, action and franchise films, including roles in the Fast & Furious series and Peacemaker.

Cena was raised in West Newbury by his parents, Carol Lupien and John Cena Sr., and grew up with four brothers. He attended Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, before enrolling at Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts.
At Springfield College, Cena played Division III American football and graduated in 1998 with a degree in exercise physiology. After college, he moved to California and worked in the fitness industry while pursuing professional wrestling. He trained at Ultimate Pro Wrestling, a California-based promotion, before signing a developmental contract with WWE in 2001.
