Sweeney was born to Lisa and Steven Sweeney and grew up with her younger brother, Trent. Although she was born in Spokane, she spent much of her childhood in northwestern Idaho before her family relocated so she could pursue acting opportunities.
She attended Saint George’s School in Spokane and began pursuing acting after auditioning for an independent film being made in the Spokane area.
